Mise sur toi Mission

Mise sur toi is an independent non-profit private organization bringing together individuals and institutions from various sectors that support its social mission. This mission is to educate and raise awareness among Quebeckers of all ages, giving them the tools to make well-informed decisions about gambling responsibly. Mise sur toi also informs the public about the consequences of excessive gambling: its mission statement is "A game should remain a game".

Objectives

Mise sur toi has three main objectives:

• to educate people about responsible gambling behaviour;
• to prevent high-risk behaviours;
• to mitigate the harmful effects of excessive gambling.

The purpose of these objectives is to contribute to the development of a culture of responsible gambling in Quebec.

Actions

Mise sur toi has launched the following initiatives:

• raising awareness and sharing information;
• providing responsible gambling education;
• informing the public about the negative consequences of excessive gambling;
• initiating and supporting research.

Developed in partnership with key stakeholders, these initiatives target the general public, gambling consumers, their family, friends and environment, as well as high-risk gamblers.

Funding

Mise sur toi is mainly funded by an annual grant from Loto-Québec. The Board of Directors is looking to diversify its sources of revenue by 2015.
